About Us

Our Story

After creating a collaborative to measure the impact of GivingTuesday annually, we launched the Data Commons to deepen our understanding of generosity—not just on GivingTuesday each year, but globally and year-round. By bringing together voices from the nonprofit, academic, and philanthropic sectors, we conduct research on giving behaviors and trends to strengthen civil society and build a more resilient nonprofit sector.

Today, the Data Commons drives projects that enhance the sector’s data infrastructure, providing insights that help organizations amplify their impact and foster generosity year-round.

GivingTuesday's Strategic Plan envisions a more just, compassionate, and resilient social sector.

GivingTuesday’s strategic plan envisions a more just, compassionate, and resilient world, aiming to mobilize a billion more people through collective giving and radical generosity.
